The Omnitrix gained a more watch-like appearance, gaining a white and black wristband, becoming smaller and sleeker, and with a grey/black dial in the middle while maintaining its green hourglass shape. The Omnitrix is immensely durable, capable of withstanding extreme physical damage, energy exposure, environmental hazards, and other forms of punishment that would destroy ordinary technology. It also possesses a self-repair function, allowing it to automatically detect damage and repair its own physical components, circuitry, internal systems, and mechanisms without requiring outside maintenance.When selecting an alien, the lines of the hourglass shape intersected, forming a diamond shape and displaying a black silhouette of the alien inside the diamond shape. The Omnitrix could also display database images of all unlocked alien forms.The Omnimatrix, better known as the Omnitrix, is a watch-like device attached to Ben Tennyson's wrist. The device allows whoever wears it to alter their DNA at will and transform into numerous different alien species, each with their own unique abilities, powers, strengths, and weaknesses. The Omnitrix allows its wearer to transform into the peak specimen of any alien species catalogued within it. Alien DNA is integrated into the wearer while retaining their personality, memories, and consciousness.The Omnitrix was created by Azmuth as a tool of peace in an act of repentance following the destruction caused by his previous creation, Ascalon, a weapon of terrible power.The Omnitrix had a three-fold purpose:• It would promote inter-species understanding by allowing other beings to experience different ways of life and understand other species through their biology.• It would serve as a repository for the DNA of over a million different intelligent species, preserving them in the event that any of them should ever become extinct and allowing them to potentially be brought back.• Secretly, Azmuth had another reason for creating the Omnitrix: he hoped that his estranged lover Zennith, who had left him as he created Ascalon, would learn of his change and come back to him.## ModesActive Mode is the Omnitrix's default mode. The actual usage time is 10 minutes at a time. If Ben changes from one form to another, the combined time for the changes can be no more than 10 minutes, likely less because of power leakage. Multiple transformations are energy-intensive and deplete the watch's power supply more quickly than single transformations. Three or four transformations would leave him with substantially less than a combined 10 minutes of time. The Omnitrix seems to time out sooner if it is taxed by activities involving a lot of movement, such as fighting. However, if regular transformations are tampered with, the user cannot always turn back normally.When the Omnitrix times out, it goes into Recharge Mode. It takes around 5 minutes to recharge, though it may take more time if tampered with. Recharge Mode's main purpose is to prevent the alien DNA from attaching permanently to its host.The Omnitrix is powered by a special self-renewable power supply that will long outlive Ben. Its internal systems can maintain themselves for an extraordinarily long period of time, while its self-repair technology allows it to automatically restore damaged components and systems.The Omnitrix can instantly recharge to protect the user from a direct physical threat. This was shown when Ben was stuck to a wall about to be killed by Kevin 11 and when Zs'Skayr tried to possess Ben. Both times, despite just timing out within a minute earlier, the Omnitrix recharged instantly when the user's life was put in direct threat.If the user is knocked out or hurt enough, the Omnitrix will revert them to their normal form as a safety measure.When a new DNA sample has been unlocked from the Codon Stream, or when the Omnitrix captures new DNA not present in the Codon Stream, Capture Mode is activated. It can also reclaim lost or removed alien DNA that was previously stored in the Codon Stream.It scans to match the species, then moves the identified species to the active playlist. If it has seen the species before, it can do this passively without Ben actively scanning. The Omnitrix can also redirect scans from inorganic aliens if its scanning power is sufficiently boosted.In Self-Destruct Mode, the Omnitrix charges energy while counting down until it explodes. S.D.M. functions as a last resort should the Omnitrix fall into the wrong hands and can be activated by Voice Command.When in S.D.M. for a few days, the Omnitrix can charge enough energy to cause an energy ripple capable of destroying the entire universe. While in S.D.M., the Omnitrix can send out energy bursts capable of throwing the user through the air.When S.D.M. is activated, the Omnitrix sends out a signal that any ship can pick up unless it was activated by Voice Command, such as when Vilgax picked it up with a stolen ship and Tetrax picked up the signal, likely as a distress signal.## General* The Omnitrix mainly allows the user to transform into a numerous variety of alien life-forms, each with their own unique powers, abilities, strengths, and weaknesses, with alien DNA organized in groups of 10.
* The Omnitrix acts as a wireless receiver for the Codon Stream.
* By accessing the Codon Stream in a faster-than-light manner, the Omnitrix uses special Omni-Energy to merge its wearer's DNA with the DNA samples it holds to create transformations.
* Alien DNA is "injected" into the user, meaning they retain their personality, memories, and consciousness. The Omnitrix cannot transform the user into another member of their own species.
* Ben's DNA is stored in the Omnitrix itself instead of the Codon Stream.
* In order for the user to change size, matter can be created from energy or reconstituted into energy as needed.
* The Omnitrix has a quick-change feature.
* The user can change back by turning the second ring on the dial to the 3 o'clock position. When Ben appeared to be changing mentally, it was only a coincidence; he was out of time and changing anyway.

It allows unlimited access to all of the Omnitrix's functions, including access to all alien forms in the device and instant changes with no time limit unless all available power is used up. Master Control removes the normal transformation timer, allowing the user to remain transformed indefinitely as long as the Omnitrix has sufficient energy. It also allows immediate switching between available forms without being restricted to the normal ten-alien playlist.
