Ben is confident, adventurous, and naturally drawn toward action, but years of experience have given him a much more mature outlook than he once had. Originally designed as an instrument of peace and understanding following the destruction caused by Azmuth’s earlier creation, Ascalon, the Omnitrix serves three primary purposes: promoting interspecies understanding by allowing its wearer to experience other forms of life, preserving the DNA of more than a million intelligent species against extinction, and, on a more personal level, demonstrating Azmuth’s remorse and hope of reconciliation with his estranged lover, Zennith. The device stores and accesses genetic samples through the Codon Stream, using Omni-Energy to merge selected alien DNA with Ben’s own biology. This transforms him into a peak specimen of the chosen species while preserving his personality, memories, and consciousness. Ben’s own DNA is stored within the Omnitrix, and the device can preserve, capture, recover, replace, manipulate, and even combine genetic samples when necessary.The Omnitrix has evolved alongside Ben, adapting to his growth while retaining its advanced transformation capabilities. Its interface displays available alien forms through the hourglass-shaped symbol, whose lines intersect into a diamond containing the silhouette of the selected alien, while its database can display images of every unlocked form. When its active energy is depleted, it enters Recharge Mode, restoring its reserves and preventing alien DNA from permanently bonding with its host. However, the Omnitrix possesses powerful emergency systems and can instantly restore its transformation energy when Ben faces an immediate threat to his life. It can also enter Capture Mode when scanning and acquiring previously unavailable DNA, automatically identifying compatible species and adding them to its available selection. Its advanced self-repair systems can automatically detect and restore damaged circuitry, internal mechanisms, structural components, and other systems without external maintenance, while its self-renewable power supply allows it to function for extraordinarily long periods. Its extensive support systems include an advanced AI responsible for transformation management, DNA processing, security, scanning, communications, navigation, and emergency functions; GPS and holographic mapping; communication with Plumber technology; a universal translator; teleportation through Azmuth’s channels; homing and planetary detection systems; advanced diagnostics; automated maintenance; DNA encryption; and sophisticated security that prevents outside manipulation.
